Around 8,500 students have completed training under the National Freelance Program

 



The Ministry of Information Technology and Communications is responsible for launching and funding the National Freelance Training Program, which resulted in the establishment of approximately 20 training center's dispersed across the country.

An official of the Ministry of Information Technology stated that as many as 8,647 graduates were trained through international standard information technology courses, and that these students contributed to the economy of the country by earning $23 million through freelancing after completing their training.

According to him, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) accepted the registration of about 1,638 new information technology firms in the year 2022. In addition, the PSEB accepted the registration of 761 contact center's and 1,463 freelancers.

He stated that the ministry was also in the process of developing specialized incubation center's in agriculture and textile, aerospace technology, gaming, and animation in order to generate more enterprises in these aforementioned fields and to increase exports.


He stated that Ignite would be launching an accelerator programmer in order to facilitate the deployment of early-stage investment capital, which would allow early-stage entrepreneurs to continue operating successfully.


Ignite is engaging with international partners such as Plug & Play, orbit, DMZ, 500 global, and hub 71 in order to bring attention from international investors to the local startup ecosystem.


According to him, the number of people who have signed up for freelancing courses offered by Ignites Digi Skills Programs has exceeded the target by approximately 75 percent. He stated that approximately 33 million people have done so.


Freelancers who were instructed by Digi Skills are projected to have accumulated a staggering $290 million in earnings by the end of the year 2022, contributing to the nation's foreign exchange reserves.
